Detailed description

Cape Royal Golf Club, originally named Royal Tee Country Club, is a Semi-Private, 27 hole golf facility located in Cape Coral, Florida. Royal Tee Golf Club has three 9-hole golf courses. These courses can be combined in pairs to form three different 18 hole course challenges. The nine-hole courses are The King Course, The Queen Course, and The Prince Course.

This unique, Gordon Lewis designed layout first opened for play in 1991. With four sets of tees, players of all skill levels will find an appropriate challenge.

The three nine hole courses can be played in three different eighteen hole combinations. This is a golf course community which is continuing to grow. The Queen Course is a target course and requires shot accuracy. All three courses were built on rolling terrain, and palm trees and sand bunkers come into play on just about every hole. Lakes come into play on all three courses. The housing development around the course is separate from the golf course. However, you may join the club or call for a day play reservation, the courses are open to the public.

The course closed August 1, 2016 but reopened in 2017.

Cape Coral (Fla.) Parks & Recreation Director Steve Pohlman confirmed on August 1, 2016 that Royal Tee Country Club had closed its doors and sent all staff home, the Fort Myers (Fla.) Beach Bulletin reported.

Royal Tee is a 27-hole semi-private club that is part of the Cape Royal gated community development. The facility has been used for a number of years as the home course for the Cape Coral High School golf teams. Athletic director Tom Kenna is scrambling to find a new home course for the boys’ and girls’ season that begins in less than three weeks, the Bulletin reported.

The course reopened in 2017.

The course was purchased by the Community HOA and reopened in 2017 with a new name. The course is now named Cape Royal Golf Club.
